Make Money With A Blog Without Using AdSense
In the beginning…
Blogging, or Web Journaling as it was originally known, really gained massive popularity in the late 1990s, primarily as a way for shy teenagers to share their thoughts in a public manner, in a journal format, with the world at large . Similar to today, many of these blogs were read only by the individual’s family and friends. Before long though, a few of these blogs slowly began to get noticed by a larger readership. As with anything on the Internet, some of these bloggers started to question whether there could be a way to start making money blogging.
Enter Google AdSense. I’m assuming that you’ve heard of Adsense, but if not, it’s a Google product where you sign up to have small advertisements that are supposedly unintrusive placed on your website or blog wherever you choose. Before long, anyone who wanted to make cash with their blogs was throwing Adsense ads all over their web pages.
Some bloggers actually made a bit of cash from this. Most, though, just ended up with a blog that had been transformed into one big ad and didn’t have much else that they gained from it.

Denizens of the blogosphere are more savvy now than they were just a few years ago. If you can get 2% of your dedicated readers to click through, you are way ahead of the game.

You have no say over what ads are displayed. Do you really want to take a chance on having R or X-rated advertisements displayed on your portfolio website?
-
Ads make a blog look spammy. They turn off your readers and make them question your intentions.

Every time someone does click on an ad, they are being taken away from your blog. Is sending people away really a good strategy?
There are much better ways to make money with your blog.
You could always try the product launch method, which involves creating high quality information products such as e-books, webinars, and web courses. There are a lot of bloggers who are making a lot of money this way. It requires a lot of time investment, but the results can be quite high.
Another way is to put together a subscription site. In this way, readers are actually paying YOU to log on to your site every month. Again, though, there is a large investment of time required, and your readers will demand a very high level from you.
Finally, there are methods where you can monetize their blogs for someone else. In these types of setups, you are usually a so-called corporate blogger, writing on behalf of a ncorporation on the topics that they give you.
All of these have their pluses and minuses. However, they are all infinitely more effective than plastering ads all over your precious blog. If you really want to become an expert in how to make money with a blog, you should investigate each of these opportunities carefully.
Is Blog Flipping A Good Way To Make Money Blogging?
Posted by admin in Site Promotion on August 13th, 2010
People who blog for a living will advise you that it is not always an easy way to make a buck. Producing quality blog posts involves passion, creativity, and time. Even famous writers such as Ann Rice every single day. Bloggers must. Maybe you’re already making some income from your blog; or perhaps not. In either case, if you do have the drive to make money from your blog, you can sell, or “flip” your blog, and still have some creative input into it – and let someone else (who is probably better at it) worry about all the things that you DON’T like about blogging, so that you concentrate on writing.
Established blogs usually sell for about 1-2 years worth of what the blog would gross. In other words, you can make money from your blog during this time without as much work – or scrapping all of your hard work. Quite often, the new blog purchaser is not interested in altering your core message – although due to different interpretations variations on your theme]. However, the heart of your blog will {likely|normally|usually|almost always} remain intact. But what happens if you miss blogging? The good news is, investors will often jump at the chance to have you continue (while sharing the increased revenues!) In fact, they are usually inclined to keep you, due to the simple fact that they don’t want to interview new writers, have to buy articles, or worst of all, write it themselves.
And think about this: don’t you get tired of the non-creative tasks, like marketing?. Instead of endlessly trying to find ways to advertise without breaking the bank, it may pay off in the long run to search for a buyer who is willing to ”play ball” monetarily and take over these tasks.
To maximize your income, you may want to look at preparing your blog for selling (use the exit strategy!) Potential buyers often scout for blogs that have many long posts with lots of keywords, and still have a clearly-defined focus. If your blog caters to a popular niche, even better. Knowledge of your market can ramp up the sales expectations – as well as any product-driven monetizing. If you are currently bringing in income from selling any type of subscription, sales negotiation is clearly in your court.
If you want to flip immediately, don’t fret about the remodeling. There are hordes of investors willing to look at a fixer-upper for the right price. The most important thing is to do your research. Find out the going rate for blogs in your niche. Be quick to reply to inquiries from potential investors and make sure that you are highly available via email or social network sites such as Twitter. Ask questions and give lots of statistics. Explain to your potential investor what you wanted to do with your blog in the past but didn’t have time to do – ideas to improve the site and drive traffic will help them shorten the time they need to think about their next move.
In summary, one of the easiest methods in the long run to monetize your blog is to let an investor(who has the finances and experience) take over any tasks you’d rather not spend your time on – such as promoting, designing, and marketing.
