Keith Wellman came up with a hot way to use video for making more sales and more money last year, and the results were pretty awesome when tested. But how about using video for a traffic tactic? If you’re not doing it, you should be, and here are some easy ways for you to ride the video wave:
Transform your articles!
You’ve gone to a lot of work writing that article you just uploaded to a directory. Because of the duplicate content issue, you really can’t use it anywhere else online, but… what if you turned it into a video?
If you have video screen capture software that allows you to construct slides from PowerPoint or Keynote and then make a video from them, you’re in business. Just add images and a line or two from the article on each slide. Then, read the article into the voice recorder and you’re all set.
This is very easy to do with Camtasia. If you have that software, you can create a slide presentation and record it easily, as Camtasia comes with a built-in Power Point plugin that works like a charm.
If you don’t have Camtasia, you could get a cheaper, but far less intuitive solution, called Sony Vegas. It’s really a great piece of software and can do far more than Camtasia, once you learn it. The issue here is that it’s not as easy to use, so the learning curve can be steep. But once you learn Vegas, it will be great not only for creating a slide presentation, but for editing live action video, as well.
PC Users can also use Windows Movie Maker, which comes with all PCs. Again, the slide have to be added individually, but you can figure that out pretty quickly. Windows Movie Maker also allows you to add narration to accompany each slide.
Several people are headed in the direction of Apple computing, and for those, you can use a couple of different softwares. One is iMovie, which comes with the Mac. In exchange for PowerPoint, Mac users have the option of using Keynote. You can buy Camtasia for Mac now, too.
It’s all up to you! Don’t let articles just be articles. Let them do extra duty in your autoresponder follow-up series, too. And be sure to make videos from them. Because they’re visual, you’ll helping people in your niche learn that are comfortable with that learning modality.
